We understand that not everyone is able to study hula or Hawaiian culture in a hālau setting. That's why at Kāholo with Kumu we go beyond the classroom to bring you a truly unique experience to those who wish to enrich their lives with Hula.
A Look into our Lessons:
What You Can Expect
- Our Kumu Hula will arrange to come to you / your group
- We will provide any pā'ū skirts or sarongs, as well as music
- If interested in including, we can also show you how to make a ti leaf to truly look the part!
- We'll begin with a little on the history of hula, what it means to dance hula, and how this all ties into Hawaiian Culture
- Next, we'll learn the basic steps, and hand motions, followed by putting them to practice
- Finally, you will learn the choreography to a Hawaiian song of your choosing (or one that is selected from our library)
- All we'll need from you is a positive attitude, and the desire to learn about hula
